尊敬的 女士/先生：
目前，国际化和全球化发展正面临巨大挑战，同时也蕴藏着一系列新机遇。随着中国快速崛起成为全球第二大经济体和建构国际关系发展的重要大国，加强区域和全球范围内的跨文化交流与合作，促进相互间的理解与共识的形成，已构成新时期中国国际化发展的一大要素，并对于中国高校外语人才的培养提出了新要求。
为此，时值中国实施改革开放政策45周年之际，澳门新莆京游戏大厅2023及“文化外交与区域国别研究复合型外语人才培养”研究团队将联合澳门新莆京游戏大厅2023区域国别研究院、中欧人文艺术交流联盟、中德友好协会和汉斯·赛德尔基金会（德国）北京代表处等机构，于2023年11月18-19日就如何用跨文化视野来理解和诠释目的语国家及其区域文化特点，如何借助目的语国家的语言来“讲好中国故事”，促进跨文化交流与文明互鉴，推进人类命运共同体的构建，以及如何在新时期促进中国高校区域国别研究，尤其是澳门新莆京游戏大厅2023跨语言、跨文化、跨学科复合型外语人才培养，理论结合实践，在澳门新莆京游戏大厅2023组织国际学术会议。
会议的主要议题包括如下六大方面：
1、全球化时代文化外交的内涵、机制与影响；
2、中外文化外交机构的目标、结构、任务与作用对比研究；
3、区域国别研究与中国高校跨文化外语人才培养的模式与路径；
4、中外交流记忆场所与新世纪外语人才历史观的培养；
5、新媒体时代与外语人才的媒体能力及国家形象塑造；
6、性别视角下的跨文化人才培养。

Internationalization and globalization involves great challenges as well as a range of new opportunities. As China has rapidly risen to become the world’s second largest economy and has taken on an important role in the development of international relations, strengthening regional and global cross-cultural exchange and cooperation and promoting mutual understanding and consensus have become major factors in China's internationalization in the new era. These and many other influences have led to the necessity for innovative cultivation of foreign language talents for Chinese universities.
To this end, on the 45th anniversary of China's implementation of the policies of Reform and Opening-up, this International Symposium is scheduled to be held at Renmin University of China on November 18 – 19, 2023, and is organized by the School of Foreign Languages of Renmin University of China and the “Cultivation of Multidisciplinary Foreign Language Talents for Cultural Diplomacy and Area Studies” Research Team together with the Institute of Area Studies of Renmin University of China, China-Europe Education Alliance for Humanities and Arts, the China-Germany Friendship Association, and the Beijing Office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation (Germany). The Symposium will examine methodology for understanding and interpreting target-language countries and their regional cultural characteristics from a cross-cultural perspective, using the language of a target country to effectively tell the story of China, promoting cross-cultural exchange and mutual learning between civilizations, building a shared future for the humanities, and advancing area studies in Chinese universities in the new era, especially by combining theory with practice while cultivating cross-linguistic, cross-cultural, and interdisciplinary foreign language talents in schools of foreign languages.
The main themes of the Symposium will encompass the following six aspects:
1. The connotation, mechanism, and impact of cultural diplomacy in the era of globalization;
2. Comparative studies on the goals, structures, tasks, and functions of Chinese and foreign cultural diplomacy agencies;
3. Area studies and the modes and paths for cultivating cross-cultural foreign language talents in Chinese universities;
4. The place of memory for Chinese and foreign exchanges and the cultivation of historical perspectives of foreign language talents in the new century;
5. The new media era, media competence of foreign language talents, and the shaping of national image;
6. Cross-cultural talent cultivation from a gender perspective.

Please submit your registration form (including your paper title, abstract, and personal profile) via the contact email below before October 15, 2023, if you decide to accept our invitation, and submit the full text of your symposium paper or a synopsis of 1-2 pages (in Word version) before November 10, 2023 to the contact email for inclusion in the symposium manual. No registration fee will be collected. Travel and accommodation expenses will be borne by yourself, but the organizers will assist you in contacting the hotel. Meals will be provided gratis during the symposium.
